The first week of October, Natalia Zuazo, director of Salto Agencia, was part of the School of Digital Transformation and Innovation in Latin America, in São Paulo, Brazil. She presented a practical session and workshop on governance of #digitalplatforms on issues of freedom of expression, representing the UNESCO Regional Office in Montevideo.

For 4 days, Latin American officials, in charge of formulating digital transformation policies and researchers interested in the role of innovation and digitalization for the development of the region, met in a space for learning and debating on topics such as meaningful connectivity, hashtag#artificialintelligence in the public sphere, digital skills and employment, public infrastructure, and more.

It was encouraging to see the commitment in each session, the questions in the debates, to learn and think of ideas to continue developing digital policies that promote inclusion and people’s rights.

The 2024 edition of the Digital Transformation School was impeccably organized, led by ECLAC, CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, Cetic.br|NIC.br Regional Center for Studies for the Development of the Information Society (Cetic.br), a department of the Information and Coordination Center of the BR Point (NIC.br), and the Internet technical community of Latin America: LACNIC, ICANN, Internet Society, LACTLD, LAC-IX, LACNOG, Red CLARA.
