Natalia Zuazo completed the “Artificial Intelligence for the Public Sector” program
Natalia Zuazo recently participated in and graduated from the “Artificial Intelligence for the Public Sector” program, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), UNESCO, and NIC.br.
During this experience, Natalia was “on the other side”: as a student, learning and working on artificial intelligence (AI) projects for the public sector, always approaching technology from the perspective of people, organizations, and rights.
The course provided a comprehensive introduction to AI, with a special focus on its application in public services. Beyond functional aspects, the training also explored governance and ethical dimensions, offering a holistic view of AI implementation in the public sector.
Throughout the program, Natalia developed key competencies, including:
- Describing AI systems and identifying their core components.
- Relating AI systems to present-day public sector use cases.
- Assessing the risks and implications of AI systems.
- Developing the concept for an AI-based public service.
Through this program, Natalia further strengthens her career in digital policy, building technical, service design, and governance skills aimed at creating public sector solutions that truly respond to people’s needs.
